20 Days of Video Game Characters – Challenge Introduction

I’ve seen quite a few different challenges in the blogging community and I wanted to try it out for myself. When I play video games, one of the most important aspects that will often mean whether I become hooked or not, is down to the characters. A great, likeable and memorable character will make the game stand out for me.

So I wanted to do a challenge revolving around great video game characters that have left a mark in my mind. So starting tomorrow, for the next 20 days I will be writing a post about each of the numerous characters that I adore, why and what makes them so great?

If you want to try out the challenge for yourself, be my guest. I am really looking forward to sharing with you some of my favourite video game characters, and I hope you enjoy the content.

Who do you think will appear and who are some of your favourite video game characters? Let me know in the comments. For all things gaming, stay tuned to Honest Gamer 🙂

  1. Okay, I’m going to predict 5 characters on this list (not looking at the three at the top):

Mario “Jumpman” Mario: that guy is by far the most-known video game character of all times.

Kratos: Haven’t played the games, but the latest game supposedly possesses a great narrative.

Ezio Auditore da Firenze: you seem to enjoy Action-Adventures, and Assassin’s Creed is one of the bigger one’s. And Ezio is probably the best character out of the games.

Agent 47: Nobody seems to talk about the Hitman games, and I’d love to see some “non-safe” picks.

Samuel Gordon (Black Mirror): It’s a shot in the dark, you probably haven’t played Black Mirror, but I figured, why not try it? It’s only a 1:600.000 chance!

  2. Putting aside the iconic ones you’ve already covered in the graphic, I’ll give you Geralt of Rivia (representing old dudes, someone’s gotta), Morrigan (STILL the most complicated love interest/possible villain in games), Aloy (for so many reasons), Mordin Solus (for being one of the few characters that managed to be funny, tough and tragic) and Samus Aran (for blazing a trail).
