This is it, the final day in my video game characters challenge and I’m honestly surprised I have stuck with it and written a post everyday sometimes more than one. For the final day I wanted to include a Ezio Auditore da Firenze from Assassin’s Creed. This was a choice between him and Bayek from Origins, as I really liked both of them and they also had quite similar narratives and emotional moments. However, I had to include Ezio due to his long lasting impact and legacy on the franchise. There was a reason he had an entire trilogy to himself.
Right from the start, the incredibly charismatic and charming Ezio is picking fights with others. After easily beating the crap out of the pompous Vieri de’ Pazzi, it isn’t too long before we witness a truly heartbreaking scene. Ezio sees his father and brothers hanged for being falsely accused of treason. This is the catalyst that sends him on his mission for not only revenge, but to stop the templars in their plot to gain pieces of Eden. While he retains his signature charming personality throughout the game, he develops into much more and matures along the way, seeing that his revenge isn’t necessarily the only important thing.
The other two games further expand and flesh out his story. It is great to see how he slowly grows throughout his adventures to his final moments. It’s also important to note how great he is in a fight, being proficient in a variety of combat styles, utilising a variety of items to his advantage. Ezio is also quite the empathetic character when he wants to be, helping out those in need and protecting those who cannot defend themselves. While he may not be one of my favourite characters of all time, he definitely left a considerable impression, and his legacy cannot be denied and has made him a fan favourite.

I knew it. I knew it! I knew this Mofo would make it on your list!
Ezio is probably indirectly responsible for a lot of frustrated firefighters who had to rescue some guys from tall buildings…

I just had to, but it was tough as Bayek is also such a good character for me.
